This report published by the World Bank reviews the experience of six countries on EITI subnational implementation. The study supports that the subnational dimension of EITI is relevant in resource-rich regions within countries that host large oil, gas and mining operations given that most of the national revenues from the extractives industries come from a specific region. By reviewing the cases of Ghana, Indonesia, Mongolia, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Peru, the study reveals some characteristics of implementing the EITI standard in a subnational level. It also draws on the emerging experiences and lessons learned; and it conduct a preliminary analysis of them.
